150 players, 10 purses. Last season every close game was decided in overs 16–20 — twice while batting, three times while bowling. If you can only afford one premium pick: finisher or death bowler?

Death bowler, every time. A finisher can be built from two decent hitters at base price. Yorkers at 35+ years old are rare — pay for the rare thing.

Agree with Nilesh. Look at the numbers: economy under 8 in overs 17–20 basically wins the league. The MVP model literally pays +3 per run saved under par.

Counterpoint: our whole season collapsed because nobody could hit 12 an over at the end. Corporate cricket has enough part-time bowlers — clean hitting is the scarcer skill.

This is what a death over looks like when it goes right. Buy the bowler.
